Experiments and Data Collection
This page provides some background on the experiments and data collection efforts we undertook in support of our work on Knowledge Based Authentication page.
The following two pilot experiments were full pen-and-paper
experiments that introduced our experiment methodology in which
experiment participants self-assess the usability of the questions and
answers. The results and analysis of these experiments contributed to
our Trust 2009 presentation and our Policy & Internet publication.
- User-chosen question experiment with HCI class - Oct/Nov 2008.
- User-chosen question experiment with Security class - Jan/Feb 2009.
The following experiment was a hybrid (online and pen-and-paper)
experiment based upon our earlier methodology. The results and
analysis of this experiment contributed to our SOUPS 2009 publication.
- User-chosen question experiment with Biology class - Jan/Feb 2009.
In support of our Financial Cryptography 2010 publication, we
undertook research regarding the real life distributions of names for
people, pets and places.
Current experiments
We are current undertaking several additional experiments to support our ongoing research work.
