Universiteit van Amsterdam

The UvA is the largest university of the Netherlands and a core member of the League of European Research Universities (LERU). The Faculty of Science at the UvA embeds a concentration of e-Science development and application groups, benefitting from its central position in the Science Park Amsterdam. The park holds the main European Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), one of the SURFnet core locations including the optical network exchange NetherLight, the national supercomputer and grid center (SARA) and a number of Dutch Science Organisation institutes. The university contributes with its Institute of Informatics and Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Informatics. These institutes collaborate with the national BigGrid initiative with respect to a priority on environmental sciences.

Our group works with UvA in the context of ENVRI, working with Wouter Los, Paolo Grosso and Zhiming Zhao.
