Gary McGilvary has secured 10,000 USD from the Amazon Web Services Research grant programme to aid in his research of determining the optimal cloud configuration parameters for a computational job running on Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). This includes the number of instances, their type and size as well as the number of cores and processes per instance and the minimum allocations of memory, storage and network performance.
