We are delighted to welcome Makoto Yui whose interested are:
Distributed and Parallel Database Systems, Data Management on Modern Hardware, XML Database Systems, and Non-blocking Algorithms.
He is currently working on map-reduce algorithms for a class of multi-table relational joins on shared-nothing architectures and on storage and query strategies for satellite and geospatial data. He initiated his work on map-reduce join algorithms while working with Martin Kersten and Peter Boncz at CWI.
He plans to investigate these algorithms and the data-storage challenge on the EDIM1 architecture.
