Living Labs are an increasingly popular means of conducting research in the real-world, where key stakeholders work together in order to identify challenges and opportunities, and co-create novel solutions. The Enhance project has established Living Labs at the Assembly Rooms (City of Edinburgh Council) and the Roslin Institute (University of Edinburgh). Over the course of a year we are working with building users, facilities managers, and estates teams in order to identify and develop solutions for energy demand reduction.

The main phases of our living lab research are outlined in the image below:

The Enhance project is also working with Edinburgh Living Lab – a city-wide collaboration that aims to bring academia, the public sector, industry and the third sector together in order to work with citizens in co-designing, testing and implementing new services, processes and products that generate social, environmental and economic value.
