The Energy Insight Game

As part of our living lab process we ran a series of ‘insight workshops’ with staff at the Assembly Rooms. The purpose of these workshops was to gain a better understanding of how people have influence and control over energy use in the building.

The outcomes of these workshops had value to the organisation, but to be carried out more widely, each workshop would require the time and analytical expertise of a skilled facilitator.

We are condensing our insight workshops into a simple and engaging game, which staff can easily learn and play, without the expertise of our researches. The game will provide clear insights without the need for detailed data analysis.

We have produced instructions for how to play the game and some videos which can be used by either a facilitator who is preparing to run the game with their staff members and a video which can be used as people are playing with or without a facilitator providing instructions whilst people are playing the game.
