A meeting was heldat 12:20 on 4th February to discuss the functional design for the new TV remote control project. The Marketing, Industrial Design and User Interface Design team-members each presented in turn an outline of their aspects of the design process. These outlines included results of research, ideas for the new product and personal preferences. The issues raised, particularly personal preferences lead to a stimulating discussion about the objectives of our product design. There was a discussion of who our target market for the product should be.Also decisions were made as to what functions will be included in, or omitted from, the remote control.

We need a clearer definition of who our target market are. We had some difficulty deciding whether the market should be divided by age, or by income, or by some other criterion.
