Travel Information

Passport and visa requirements

Entrance to Hungary is visa free for citizens of most countries, but you are advised to check it at the Hungarian embassies and/or consulates in your country. Participants who need visa are strongly advised to make their application in their home countries at least two months before the intended date of travel.

Letters of invitation

If a formal invitation is needed to obtain funds for attending the conference, it will be sent upon request by the Conference Secretariat. Please indicate it on the Registration Form.

Transfer from the airport to the city

The most convenient way to get to the hotels or to the conference venue from Ferihegy Airport is to take an Airport minibus. The fare costs around 1800 Ft. You can buy your ticket upon arrival at the airport. A taxi ride may cost 3-4 times more unless you order 6x6 taxi by phone (2666666).

Public transport

Budapest has one of the cheapest public transportation systems in the world with inexpensive tickets to ride. Nevertheless we recommend our participants to buy the three-day pass, Budapest Card, that entitles holders to unlimited travel by all services within the city. (Transportation tickets and cards can be bought at the Registration Desk.)

Insurance

The organisers are not responsible for personal accidents and damage to the property of the conference participants. It is recommended that delegates and accompanying persons arrange personal, travel and health insurance in advance.
