Welcome to the Dialogue and Interaction Working Group at the University of Edinburgh.

We are a group of staff and PhD students at Edinburgh University who are interested in modelling humans in an extended interaction with:
humans, computers, online information or even imaginary agents...
using
text, speech, multimedia or a combination of these...
in
real or virtual, embodied or disembodied environments.

Members of the group come primarily from Informatics, Linguistics and Psychology and draw on a wide range of research methodologies, including symbolic approaches, psychology experiments, machine learning from corpora and system building, among others.

You can find out about what we do by looking at our schedule of meetings and you can join by subscribing to the email list.
